Overview
The purpose of this program is to provide scholars access to the historical and cultural context to art. We focus on the study of art history, the elements & principles of design and how they relate to each other in a composition. The program begins with drawing and studies in value, shape and form, and then builds on this foundation to color and texture, and rules of composition. Scholars will gain experience in a variety of media such as graphite, color pencil, pastel, clay, collage and mixed media.
