Sac High Scholars Help Bring Affordable Housing Project to Life
Through a partnership with Vrilakas-Groen Architects, a group of Sac High scholars in various grade levels recently learned about the housing industry, and then put their newfound skills to work.
Led by professional architect Ron Vrilakas who has completed several economic development projects in Oak Park, scholars learned about what it takes to bring an affordable housing project to fruition.
After completing on campus learning sessions, scholars joined professionals as they volunteered their time on weekends to complete the final interior and exterior painting of an affordable housing development being built in downtown Sacramento. Not only did our scholars learn valuable hands-on skills, they were thrilled to give back to the community. We are excited to increase access for our scholars and expose them to all types of fields, including the housing industry.
