It’s hard to believe that the school year is over and summer is here. We are excited to be offering vibrant summer programs for our scholars including the first ever St. HOPE Inspire U Academy that provides activities to promote creativity and personal growth. Our scholars have the opportunity to choose from a variety of FREE 2-week camps focused on dancing, painting, swimming, cooking, music, arts and crafts, STEAM, and more. We also have credit recovery and academic programs for our scholars who need additional support.

We are thrilled that next school year will have a modernized PS7 Elementary campus and all of our scholars will be learning in brand new classrooms. We are also excited to expand our college prep programs at Sac High. This past school year, nearly 40 Sac High scholars earned over 350 college credits as part of the Panther Pipeline, our onsite dual enrollment program with Sac City College. Next year, we plan to expand the program by adding two college courses and enrolling our 9th and 10th grade students to join students in upper grades.

In addition to celebrating our student successes, we have some terrific upcoming community events that you won’t want to miss. We hope that you will join us for the Oak Park Speaker Series featuring New York Times bestselling Author Nikole Hannah-Jones to discuss her book The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story as well as for the Juneteenth Block Party at 40 Acres. This event is great for the entire family and we have a full lineup of high energy entertainment including music, art, and dance and several local black owned street and food vendors. It’s an exciting time in Oak Park!
