Off to an Exciting Start
President's Message - 8.26.24
Happy back to school! We are thrilled to report that all of our PS7 Elementary scholars and staff started the school year in new brand classrooms at our renovated campus on Strawberry Lane. Here is a wonderful video from the first day of school where you can see the modernized campus. At full build out it will include 31 new classrooms, a renovated multi-purpose room and kitchen, a reconfigured front entrance and accessways as well as new hardscape, landscaping, playground, fields, and basketball courts.
We are proud to have recently partnered with AT&T and Human-I-T as they distributed 500 laptops to students in need. Ensuring that St. HOPE families have access to technology is a critical part of leveling the playing field and we’re grateful that AT&T generously donated computers to our scholars.
Last week, we had a fabulous event with Award Winning Actor Jay Ellis where he discussed his new book “Did Everyone Have an Imaginary Friend (or Just Me)?“. We have several great events coming up including our family movie matinee on September 8 featuring the movie Leo and Let’s Read Oak Park with author JaNay Brown-Wood on September 14 at Underground Books. I hope to see you there!
